Actually though, how many pages are necessary?
I’ve heard so many people say they think they need a 10–12 page website for their business. They don’t. Most wedding and service-based businesses only need 5 or 6, max. Some only need 1 or 2.
A good website isn’t measured by how many pages it has. What matters is whether someone quickly skim, and know exactly what you do, who you help, and how to hire you.
When you have too many pages
Here’s what often happens with service-based websites: individual pieces of information each end up getting their own page. Testimonials? Whole page. FAQs? Whole page. Two freebie downloads? Whole page.
Suddenly the menu looks crowded, but most of the pages end up lacking substance. When people are only finding bits and pieces of information on a page and getting nothing useful out of it, that doesn’t build your credibility. It makes people wonder if the business behind the website actually knows what it's doing.
And those extra pages don’t just look empty, they will actually hurt your SEO. When people don’t find what they’re looking for and leave right away, Google takes it as a sign your site isn’t helpful. And often, those extra pages repeat the same information in slightly different ways. That creates duplicate content, leaving you with multiple weaker pages instead of one strong one.
When one page is plenty
Starting out, a single page can usually handle everything. You can introduce yourself, explain your offer, add a couple testimonials, and give people a way to contact you, all in one place.
A simple site loads faster, is easier to navigate, and doesn’t take forever to maintain. It feels clean instead of cluttered. And when you’re not buried in managing an unnecessarily large website, you can focus on other things that will help your business grow, like marketing, writing emails, creating lead magnets, or developing new services.
One page works especially well if you:
Offer one main service or program
Need to keep costs down
Want to launch quickly
Can’t (or don't want to) hire a copywriter
Aren’t a professional writer yourself and can’t imagine trying to come up with decent content for 10 different pages
One page keeps it clear, quick, and easy to launch.
When more pages make sense
As your business grows, one page might not be enough. Maybe you’ve added multiple services, want a proper About page, or prefer having a dedicated Contact page. Even then, very few businesses need more than 5-6 pages: a homepage for the overview and features, a services page to break down your offers, an about page for your background and credibility, and a contact page so people can reach you or book directly.
That’s usually enough. Anything extra is only worth it if you’ll actually use it. A blog that’s been sitting untouched for 2 years doesn’t give people confidence. It just makes the site look abandoned.
The SEO myth
A common assumption is that more pages automatically mean better SEO. They can, if they all contain original content. But Google doesn’t reward you for having more pages. It rewards you for being useful. A site full of boring half-empty pages or duplicate content tells Google the opposite. If people arrive, realize there’s nothing valuable there, and bouce, your rankings drop.
Four strong, well-written pages will always do better than 12 that say nothing helpful. And if SEO is part of your long-term strategy, you can always add more content later, but only if it has a clear purpose. That’s where a blog or resources section can help, but only if you actually plan to keep it updated.
The answer
You don't need a complicated, 12-page website. You probably only need 5 pages at most. The important thing isn’t the number of pages. It’s whether the pages help your visitors get the information they need to work with you. Be intentional and build only what supports your business goals, without sending people on a scavenger hunt.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many pages does a wedding professional website need?
Most wedding professionals only need 4-5 pages: Home, Services/Packages, About, Contact, and optionally a Blog or Portfolio. A single-page website can work if you offer one main service and want to launch quickly.
Is a one-page website enough for my wedding business?
Yes, if you're just starting out, offer one main service, or want to keep things simple. One-page sites load faster, are easier to maintain, and can include everything potential clients need to hire you. But if you're hoping to get found on Google, one page likely won't do it.
Will having more pages help my SEO?
Not necessarily. Google rewards useful, high-quality content - not page count. Four strong pages with valuable information will always outrank 12 thin, repetitive pages that don't help visitors. But having more pages, each with clear, unique keywords will give you more chances to rank.
What pages are essential for a wedding vendor website?
At minimum: a homepage (what you do and who you help), and a way for people to contact or book you. A services/pricing page should be used if your services need explaining or to list options or tiers. An About page adds credibility, and a Blog can help with SEO if you keep it updated. But everything can also be included in Home page sections if you don't want multiple pages.
Can I add more pages later?
Absolutely. Start with what you need now and add pages as your business grows. It's easier to expand a simple site than to launch with 10+ pages you're not ready to maintain.
Does my blog count as one page?
Yes. Your main blog page and the blog post page work together and count as one page. I'll design both the main blog page and one individual post page layout that all your future posts will use.
